    I think the word “fat” adds an edge of comedy to this haiku. A lovely short read.

    🙂 Lovely last line. Reminds me of the canny warmth of some of Sylvia Plath’s ‘mother’ poems – ‘sprats in a pickle jar’ and so on.

    If they would stop wiggling down there–the birds wouldn’t hear them! That’s the way of nature though, isn’t it. Loved this haiku.

    I have often thought about the “Robin” particularly as being predatory .
    Not because of what he eats but for how they eye there prey before hand.

    There is always someone who thinks as you do.
