This haiku makes me think of an important concept in ecology called a “sink.” A sink is the “final resting place” of any product and byproduct created by human beings–everything from the dead jeans you mentioned to the hydrocarbons “sunk” in the atmosphere. Interesting how this poem juxtaposes the deer and the jeans. A very fresh poem, though admittedly a sad one, too. Nice to see that you’re enjoying Seeds.
